Use the full ordering code

Suffixes within one family may select output enable, standby or no-connect options with different defaults. Read the block diagram, pin table and ordering table together rather than relying on package pin count.

Separate disabled output from standby

Output disable may stop only the driver, while standby can affect internal oscillation and recovery. Check output state, current and time to valid output against system power-up and sleep sequencing.

Do not assume NC and DNC mean the same thing

Definitions differ between manufacturers. Some pins must remain unconnected while others allow defined connections. Follow the selected device documentation instead of automatically carrying over an existing ground tie or pull-up.

Record pin confirmation before ordering

Compare old and candidate pin functions, thresholds, supply and enable states. Validate power-up, power-down, sleep and wake behavior before engineering adds the candidate to an approved list.
