Selection reference · illustrative scenario
Start with the chipset and system states
Identify protocol, RF chipset, reference input and operating states. There is no universal wireless oscillator. Confirm allowed error and temperature behavior against the host documentation.
Engineering: compensation and interfaces
For a TCXO, review stability conditions, waveform, amplitude, supply and load. A tuned design also needs control-voltage and pull-range review. Initial room-temperature tolerance alone does not define the accuracy target.
Procurement: retain the configuration
Record special frequencies, tuning options, clipped-sine outputs and nonstandard pins. Compare samples, minimum orders and delivery conditions as well as nominal frequency and package.
Scenario: reviewing a domestic candidate
Build a difference table from the original specification and chipset requirements. Check amplitude/load, temperature definitions and error inclusions before temperature and system tests. The review does not imply a candidate is already approved.
